For LARRY NEMECEK, theatre and journalism degrees added up to a life in newspapers and two state AP newswriting awards-until the 1992 publication of The Star Trek: The Next Generation Companion from Pocket Books, now twice revised. He was managing editor of the glossy, licensed Communicator magazine from 1998 until its 2005 hiatus, and, among other titles, writes two columns in Titan/U.K.'s Star Trek magazine. With wife Janet, he sold the story for the Star Trek: Voyager episode “Prophecy,” and he was also a contributing content producer to startrek.com at CBS Interactive, photo editor/consultant for the entire six years of the Star Trek Fact Files, and remains its sole writer for its Japanese DVD edition.
Consultant projects include DVD bonus features, the Star Trek: The Experience museum in Las Vegas, the Europe-based “Star Trek World Tour” and its current U.S. incarnation as “Star Trek: The Tour.” He produced live fan charity events in Oklahoma and has been a convention guest and pundit across the U.S. as well as Canada, the U.K., Germany, France, Italy, Austria and the Czech Republic. Based in Los Angeles since 1994, Larry enjoys travel, politics and history and still recalls his Okie roots by serving as a docent for hero Will Rogers at his State Historic Ranch Park in Pacific Pallisades. And come fall, get out of the way for football season and those fabulous Oklahoma Sooners!
